On Saturday, September 21, the Rosedale Neighborhood Association, in collaboration with the Skinker DeBaliviere Community Council, will once again host “Rags to Riches,” one of St. Louis’s largest community-wide yard sales. Here’s how it works: Individual neighbors pay an advanced registration fee of $10.00 to the Rosedale Neighborhood Association.
For that fee, the participants receive: a.) coverage by the neighborhood-wide permits for the sale; b.) benefit of publicity paid for out of the registration fees (ads ran last year in the zoned editions of the Post Dispatch, the JournaLs and the American); c.) a listing on the map distributed at the check-in point (once again, the parking lot at Kingsbury Animal Hospital). Pre-registration deadline this year is Wednesday, September 18, at the SDCC offices, 6008 Kingsbury. Revenues for the neighborhood are generated through a barbecue and bake sale at Kingsbury Animal Hospital. Skinker DeBaliviere T-shirts will also be available for purchase ($12.00) on the day of the yard sale. Rosedale Neighborhood AssociationPresident Jane Geiler and committee chair Julie Schoemehl are working hard to assure a fun and successful event.
