From The SDCC Office — Calling For Help

September 1996

Historical September 1996 article. Dates, prices, services and contacts describe the source period; current availability has not been established.

Not sure when you should use 9-1-1? Confused when a police department staffer takes your report over the phone? Keep it simple!

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department advises if you need an immediate response by police, by the fire department or by ambulance, dial 911.

If you call 911 to report activity of a suspicious nature, you will remain anonymous unless you give permission for an officer to contact you.

When calling 9-1-1, DO NOT HANG UP. Calls are taken in the order received.
