Countdown To Blitz Day

April 1996

Historical April 1996 article. Dates, prices, services and contacts describe the source period; current availability has not been established.

All Brightside block captains and other interested volunteers are invited to an organizer’s coffee Saturday, April 20, 10 to 11 a.m. at the Skinker DeBaliviere Community Council offices, 6008 Kingsbury at Des Peres.

As you know, Brightside Blitz, which will be May 4 this year, is an annual neighborhood clean-up event. Volunteers mobilize to clean up alleys, vacant lots, and other public areas; to plant marigolds and periwinkles supplied by City forestry in our public areas, to mulch curbside trees, and to generally “spruce up” the neighborhood.

This informal gathering will give our Blitz veterans the opportunity to share their experiences with the “new kids” on the block, and everyone will have a chance to share ideas. ALL ARE WELCOME!

Call 862-5122 for more information. And, if you are unable to attend, call and let us know what you plan to do so we can share your great ideas!
