Letters To The Editor — Dumpster Misuse

By David Garin

Historical October 1995 article. Dates, prices, services and contacts describe the source period; current availability has not been established.

The dumpsters in our alleys are routinely being filled beyond capacity.

Residents must take care not to overload the dumpsters and to report their unauthorized use by nonresidents.

In addition, inappropriate refuse is being dumped in the “yard waste only” bins and people are still using plastic bags to collect and deposit leaves and clippings.

It appears that some commercial waste generators are using our dumpsters to dispose of their construction trash and landscaping wastes.

If you see someone dumping trash or-yard waste from a vehicle, take down the license number and report it to the SDCC at 862-5122.

If you are contracting to have work done, ask your contractor where the waste will go and remind them that it cannot go into the neighborhood waste bins. David Garin 61xx Westminster
