Historical October 1995 article. Dates, prices, services and contacts describe the source period; current availability has not been established.

When Horace and Anna Busch hosted a fundraiser for the Knights of Columbus Ladies’ Auxiliary, they also got the chance to show off our lovely neighborhood.

The sandwiches of ribs, chickens and steaks, as well as hot dogs went very well.

In spite of the very hot weather, the members of the Auxiliary, many neighborhood friends and neighbors came out to support us.

We want to thank Msgr. Salvatore Politzi for running the announcement in the St. Roch’s bulletin, our daughter for baking some of the delicious pastries that went with the sandwiches, our workers from the organization who gave so generously of their time as well as food and helping with the serving and the clean-up.

We also want to thank the Schnuck’s and Shop & Save supermarkets for the donations they gave toward our efforts.

For the very short time that we had to sell the sandwiches, we profited $373.00! Great!

I think the highlight of the evening was the appearance of KTVI Channel 2’s newsman Tom O’Neal.

He came by to buy several orders and talked with our guests.

The Auxiliary members want everyone to know that we are very grateful to everyone who helped us to make our first fundraiser a success, especially our husbands, who are members of the Knights of Columbus.
