Historical October 1995 article. Dates, prices, services and contacts describe the source period; current availability has not been established.

Anne Spencer joined Crossroads School, located at DeBaliviere and Kingsbury, in 1992. Under her leadership, the school has implemented a long-term strategic plan and purchased its building.

This summer, the school completed the renovation of parts of the building and added a black box theatre, art studio, two classrooms, and an advanced computer laboratory. Under Spencer’s leadership, Crossroads received renewed accreditation from the Independent School Association of the Central States and joined the National Association of Independent Schools.

She led her faculty in planning the incorporation of technology into Crossroads’ college preparatory curriculum. Spencer also assisted the Times by allowing Crossroads to host two successful fundraisers for the newspaper during her tenure. At the end of the 1995-1996 school year, Spencer will join her husband in Geneva, Switzerland. Webster University has appointed him their director-general of European Campuses and director of the Geneva campus. Molly Strassner, a Crossroads board member and former interim director, is heading a search committee to find a replacement for Spencer.
