Local residents Debbie Burke (6100 block of McPherson) and Kasey Crawford (5200 block of Westminster) were two enthusiastic volleyball players Sunday afternoon, April 23, as their twelveyear-old-and-under team won the Gateway Retional Tournament held at St. Charles High School. Their team, part of the Wil-Coo Volleyball Club (St. Louis Metro) defeated Team St. Louis in the semi-final match and Team St. Charles UBC in the finals. Other team members include Ellen Baker, Sara Bosslet, Julianne Campbell, Elizabeth Drury, Jessica Esmundo, Erin Simino, and Monica Stockmann.
The team is coached by Bill Williams and Chrissy Burke (6100 McPherson) is the Assistant Coach. Ellen Baker is not in the photo as she suffered a bad sprained ankle in the semifinal match.
The Gateway Region extends west to Columbia, Missouri, east to Spring. field, Illinois, north to Iowa and south to Arkansas.
