The Skinker-DeBaliviere neighborhood now has a thriving apartment owners association that is working hard to emulate the successes of landlord associations in nearby neighborhoods. Meeting are held monthly on the Third Monday of the month at 7 pm at the SDCC offices at 6008 Kingsbury.
There is usually a speaker at every meeting who addresses issues pertinent to landlords such as code compliance, occupancy inspections etc.
The focus at the next meeting is scheduled to be beautification of the neighborhood, and maintenance of buildings.
A panel of property managers will be attending the next meeting. Besides providing a forum for the exchange of information, the apartment owners association is also involved with the SDCC Bingo fundraising, and other neighborhood activities.
The SDAOA is looking for greater participation from landlords in the SkinkerDebaliviere area.
