SDCC-Sponsored King Commemoration Postponed Until Feb. 6

February 1994

Historical February 1994 article. Dates, prices, services and contacts describe the source period; current availability has not been established.

The sleet and snow falling all over the area on Jan. 16 necessitated postponement of the annual King commemoration sponsored by SDCC, Grace and Peace Fellowship, and the New Cote Brilliante Church of God. Children from St. Roch’s School, Hamilton School, New City School, and Crossroads School were scheduled to perform.

The commemoration has been rescheduled for Sunday, February 6, at 3:00 p.m., at Grace and Peace, Del mar at Clara. Parking will be available at the Regional Hospital lot across the street.

As originally planned, Gregory Freeman, columnist for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, will speak on “The Need for Nonviolence—Now More Than Ever.” The school children will perform readings and songs and additional music will be supplied by the New Cote Brilliante Church choir and members of Grace and Peace.
