Dangerous Visions Starts Season At New City School

Historical October 1991 article. Dates, prices, services and contacts describe the source period; current availability has not been established.

New City School continues its tradition of fostering live theater in its City venue at 5209 Waterman, with the season opener of Dangerous Visions Productions. John Gores’ “House of Blue Leaves,” directed by Wayne Salomon, will open October 4 and run through October 26 with performances on Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m. Theater goers are probably familiar with the facility at New City School as the theater was home to Theater Project Company for many seasons. Theater goers are also probably familiar with Dangerous Visions Productions: this company produced the critically acclaimed “Torch Song Trilogy” at the Center of Contemporary Arts last spring. Dangerous Visions is not permanently housed at New City School at this time but their first two productions in October and November will be performed there.

The cast of “House of Blue Leaves” features Tom Clear in a leading role. Clear has been involved in community theater productions in Skinker DeBaliviere as the music director of ”West of Pecos” and as director of “Too Many Nights in a Bar Room” and “Promethea: A Burlesque Comedy.” Clear extends a special invitation to his friends in the area to attend a performance of “House [title incomplete in source]. Group rates are available. Tickets are $12, available through DialTix. 291-7600.
