Historical October 1991 article. Dates, prices, services and contacts describe the source period; current availability has not been established.
In the article, “Let’s Relight the Night,” of our previous issue, the Times reported, “A 60 watt bulb burning 12 hours costs only 15 cents per day; a little more than a penny an hour.” We have since learned from a critical reader it only costs 6½ cents per day to burn a 60 watt bulb for 12 hours; roughly ½ cent per hour.
A dramatic difference! Thanks Ernst Stix.
