“Black Cowboys” Play at Lucier Park

October 1987

Historical October 1987 report or notice. Original dates, prices and contacts describe the source period; current availability has not been established.

“Black Cowboys and the Western Expansion” will be presented by the St. Louis Black Repertory Company Sunday, October 11, 4 p.m. at Lucier Park (west of Hamilton School at 5800 Westminster).

If you like to play cowboys and Indians (or have children who do) you’ll love to travel West to learn about the black cowboys who were champion ropers, sharpshooters, and bronco riders.

This participation play is an entertaining history lesson for children K-6.

This play is the sixth and final program in the West End Concert Series sponsored by the Skinker DeBaliviere Community Council and the West End Neighborhood Arts Council.

The series is underwritten by a grant from the Regional Arts Commission and Citicorp.

The program will last approximately one hour and parents are asked to provide supervision for children who attend the program.

Admission is free.
