The West End Neighborhood Arts Council and the Friends of the Library are sponsoring a performance by Trio Cassatt, a classical music group.
The performance will be held at the Des Peres Branch Library on Tuesday, Nov. 24, at 8 p.m.

This program is being funded by the Feinberg Real Estate Co., McPherson Management, Central West End Savings and Loan Assoc., the Arts & Humanities Commission of St. Louis, and Music Performance Trust Funds. Trio Cassatt is Missouri’s newest chamber group, having been formed in 1980. Due to the high quality of the ensemble, the Missouri Arts Council funds its touring performances throughout Missouri.
The three performers are virtuoso string players from the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.
On violin is Dana Edson who was trained at Juilliard and spent several years in European orchestras and chamber groups. Catherine Lehr on cello attended the Eastman School and Indiana University and presently holds the position of Assistant Principal Cello in the St. Louis Symphony.
On viola is Kathleen Mattis, trained at the University of Southern California and holding the position of Associate Principal Viola with the St. Louis Symphony.
The program will feature the Trio in c minor by Beethoven and the Trio by Sergei Taniev. Also included will be a Mozart transcription of Bach’s Prelude & Fugue.
