Anti-Fencing Hotline

June 1978

Historical June 1978 notice. Dates, fees, services and contact information describe the source period; current availability has not been established.

The Women’s Crusade Against Crime now operates a 24-hour anti-fencing hotline for the St. Louis and St. Louis County police departments. Citizens are asked to help stop the flow of stolen property [word damaged in source] reporting suspicious happenings.

Transactions in stolen property cost the public billions of dollars in lost taxes and higher prices on consumer goods each year, the Crusade points out. Fences also provide thieves with the monetary incentive to steal more properties.

Anyone knowing of a “hot” deal or a place where stolen property is sold or stored is urged to call 231-0425. Calls are confidential and rewarding.
