Don’t Take No for an Answer in a Real Emergency!
… when seriously bleeding, burned, poisoned, in shock or not breathing.
Anybody has a right to life-saving care in any Emergency Room.
If your problem is less serious, you may have to wait and discuss money first.
Ask the Doctor to Talk Your Language!
You have the right to know as much as he or she knows about what’s wrong and what can be done.
Discrimination Is Dangerous to Your Health!
No hospital can refuse you just because of your race, religion, color, sex, or what’s wrong with you.
Some can refuse to take you if you can’t pay.
If they can’t help, they should send you to a place that can.
Take Care of Yourself!
It’s your life. Sensible living is the biggest part of health care. Doctors can only help. Speak up if they forget to tell you how to do your part!
