October 1977

From The Times Archives

TROOP 98, ST. ROCH’S On Sept. 28, Troop 98 held its first Court of Honor of the program year. Presentations were made of the merit badges and progress awards earned at summer camp as well as afterwards. Eight scouts were given patches and certificated for swimming a mile at camp.

The October 12th troop meeting falls on the night of the big “School Night to Join Scouting Drive” and anyone interested in joining Troop 98 is welcome to visit this night, as they are every week.

There will be several campouts this fall, including the West District Patrol Adventure, and a few hikes. The troop venture at the Scoutskillshow at the New Convention Center will be a presentation on the Art Merit Badge, specifically SandCasting.

The troop meets every Wednesday in Scariot Hall at 7:30 p.m.
