Open Letter to President, WHN

October 1977

Historical October 1977 letter. Opinions and allegations remain attributed to the original writer; the archive does not independently establish those allegations.

When you came into the Community and then expressed a desire to run for President of WHN, I had high hopes that you were bringing some expertise that would have been an asset to the neighborhood. Consistently and persistently this has not been so. It is sad indeed that you have become a Puppet.

In regards to your statement concerning the proposed community center, you turned deaf ears to the wishes of the Community Residents and let them know you do as you please whether they like it or not. You forget, people elected you and after this last blunder there is even greater dissatisfaction with you as a leader.

I have worked with and for the neighborhood for some time and still plan to do so with no intentions of stepping aside just because you do not care to listen opposing views. As a leader, this is what you are supposed to do, hear both sides. As long as I am elected by the people, I will continue to express their ideas and wishes whether you like it or not. Even if I am not elected, as a resident of this neighborhood, I’ll still work in the same manner and speak up on issues that I feel are detrimental to this community.

I have never like the way you have made decisions without the approval of the Board and/or Community-at-Large. In other words, I have to believe you have become a puppet dictator. In this community, this is not to be, and I feel it is YOU who should step down-NOW.
