The staff of The Paper has recently reorganized. There will be more changes in the next few weeks as we seek to accommodate all our volunteers’ talents and time commitments.
Karen Bynum is the new editor. She has worked on The Paper in various roles reporting, layout, and advertising for the three years she has lived in this neighborhood.
Jo Ann Vatcha, who is best known for her Vicissitudes column, will be assuming the duties of Business Manager. She will, however, continue to collect those interesting items that make her column one of our most popular features.
Marj Weir is retiring as editor after four years of faithful service. Marj has done a yeoman’s job keeping the staff functioning, writing articles and editorials, organizing distributions, selling ads, dealing with the typesetting and printing firms and handling the billing of our advertisers and payments of our bills. She is not leaving the staff entirely. She will continue to serve as Layout Supervisor.
Our community owes Marj a debt of gratitude for the time, energy, and talent she has poured into this newspaper.
Rose Storey is retiring after years of handling our mailings and subscriptions. She has freely donated her time and postage money. We thank her and appreciate her faithfulness.
We are looking for someone to take over this job. The Paper will provide mailing supplies and postage.
We are still desparately in need of people to sell advertising. Our financial outlook is improving but we are not able to meet each month’s bills with our advertising income. Our various neighborhood groups have been most generous with their donations; however, it is difficult to plan from month to month when we must depend on gifts.
The staff of reporters can always use new people. If you have some talent or interest please call Karen at 862-6874 and let her know. We are looking forward to serving our neighbors in 1977. We anticipate a good year for The Paper and our community.
