At St. Roch’s — School and Parish News

November 1975

St. Roch’s parish is happy to welcome Father James A. Seyer, who has come to us from Cape Girardeau to lend a hand during the illness of Father Rocklage. Another newcomer is Ms. Jane Maull, who is teaching Kindergarten.

Mini courses will soon begin at St. Roch’s School. One hour each week will be devoted to the students’ choice courses ranging from Needlework, Puppetry and various handicrafts, through Dramatics, Music, Public Speaking and Communication Skills, to Bridge and Typing for the upper grades. These are all taught by volunteers who are eager to share their hobbies and interests with the children.

One hundred fifty new books have been purchased for the libraries in each building. They are being processed and will soon be on the shelves.

The adult’s and children’s choirs have resumed their regular schedule of rehearsals and masses. The children’s choir will be accompanied this year by two guitars played by Mary McDermott and Chris Muckerman.

Luncheon will be served by Schnuck’s in Scariot Hall, November 10 at 12:00 noon. All proceeds will go to St. Roch’s Parish. For tickets call 726-1097 or 721- 6340.
