Des Peres Branch Library

October 1975

The Des Peres Branch Library will be a busy place in October, with events planned for both adults and children.

Home renovators are invited to come to a workshop on Saturday, October 18, 1-3 p.m., when we hope to have both experts and novices present to share their experiences and methods. We will also have a collection of books which are available for borrowing.

Missouri Botanical Garden will be giving a program on Indoor Gardening at the library at 2 p.m. on Monday. October 20.

Both of these programs are free, and everyone is invited to attend.

St. Louis Public Library’s mobile Women’s Unit will be parked outside the branch from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, October 17. The van carries information about and for women— their political, economic, social, and medical concerns, as well as biographies of women and their writings. This van is one of the library system’s Bicentennial projects, and is available to other groups and meetings.

Story hour for preschoolers three to five years old is held every Friday at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., with parents invited to stay for coffee and an occasional special program.

Newcomers to the community are reminded that the library welcomes them and their children. A library card from this branch can be used at any library in the city, and books from the Main Library can be sent to the branch to picked up there.
