There was a meeting of interested residents on September 17 to begin work on the 1976 Art Fair and House Tour. At this meeting general cochairpersons and committee chairpersons were selected. The generalchairpersons are Rich Lake and Joe Lange, who will oversee the entire Fair. Dee Vossmeyer and Karen Bynum are Art Fair co-chairpersons. The House Tour will be run by Kathy Harlemann, Venita Lake and Blanche Reel. Mary Boyts will help Jane Cross with the Children’s Art next year. Joe Boyts again will handle traffic. Brad Weir will gather his usual “cast of thousands” to put up the fencing. Mike Magrath is looking for someone to co-chair the Publicity Committee with him. Susie Roach volunteered to handle the obtaining of city permits. Sue Tepas again will co-ordinate the Neighborhood Fund Raisers. Neville and JoAnn Vatcha are in charge of the Information Booth. Betty Newshaw will again take care of the banner and she has also volunteered to handle the Sanitation Committee. All of Betty’s neighbors know what a wise choice this is.
Next month we will publish a list of all the chairpersons’ telephone numbers so that any other Skinker-DeBaliviere resident who wishes to help can contact them. In the meantime, if you have a burning desire to help, call Rich Lake (727-7378) or Joe Lange (863-2164). Everyone is welcome and urged to join in the planning of the 1976 Art Fair/House Tour.
