Scariot Hall Transformed

April 1975

St. Roch’s Church’s Scariot Hall has undergone a startling change. Because of the determined efforts of the Women of St. Roch’s for the last two years, $3500 was raised to pay for the redecoration. Virginia LeGuey-Feilleux redesigned the basement room using half timbering giving it an old English flavor. The plans included a coat room and a bar area. Thanks for their generous help must go to Rita and Lou Magyar, and their daughters, Mary and Claire; Vincent Schoemehl, Sr., and Michael Schoemehl; Horace Busch; John Nelson; Betty and Bob Newsham and their son; George Storey and his son; John and Pat Fitzgerald; Larry Magee; John Horton; Gino Scariot; and Jane Collins.

A few finishing touches remain to be done. More lighting is to be installed in the ceiling, around the walls, and in the coat room. Soon after Easter more hands will be needed to complete the project.
