Halloween Party Huge Success

December 1974

By Art Santen

Rosedale Neighborhood Association held their 7th annual Halloween Costume Party which had almost 300 children in attendance.

The costume winners were: Rory Krieger (Robot), Gino Cross (Death), Ann Newsham (lady), Andy Renard (Arab Shiek), Anita Watson (Lady), Ginger Lottes (Xmas tree), Elizabeth Winter (Milk Shake), Chris Mudd (St. Louis), Megan Couch (Butterfly), Beth Ann & Teddy Bynum (Raggedy Ann & Andy).

The judging was very difficult because of the imagination and work that the children used on their costumes.

The committee consisted of: Kitty Buckley, Betty Klinefelter, Jack Flynn, Roy White, Art Santen, and Jim Creighton. Jim Creighton taught the Boy Scouts of troop 98 how to make animal baloons and together they gave out balloons to all of the children.

The children were entertained by a professional magician, Mr. Harold D. Russel, who kept them spellbound.

The Boy Scouts again offered coffee and doughnuts to the parents as they passed the barriers on Rosedale.
