The playground at Hamilton 3, which was a popular program in the neighborhood last year, and was to run through January this year, will not open at all.
SDCC has been notified that the funds used to provide the after hours custodian, have been transferred by the Board of Education into salaries for extra security guards in the high schools.
The program last year provided a variety of activities from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. for residents from grade school through young adults.
Previous funding was by the Board of Education, the Department of Education and Emergency Employment Act program.
