Housing

December 1973

Three members of the Skinker-DeBaliviere Community Council’s housing committee have met with city treasurer Paul Berra. The committee asked the treasurer to make more city funds available to banks willing to make conventional mortgage loans in our area.

Mr. Berra said that he was trying to devise a workable plan and that the city administration would announce some new policies after the first of the year.

The treasurer also said that the housing committee was the first group in the city to discuss the subject with him.

He asked the committee to submit a written proposal.

The committee is planning to meet with several bankers in order to develop a plan beneficial to the neighborhood, the city, and the banks.
