Senior Citizens, do you think nobody cares about you? Do you stay at home because you think there is nowhere to go? Someone cares, and we’ve done something about it, too. Because of you, Senior Citizens of the West End, there is the Urban West Senior Citizens’ Center.
The Center is located at 5370 Pershing and it is open every week day, from ten in the morning, until five in the evening.
And there are activities scheduled for every day of the week.
On Monday morning an Arts and Crafts instructor teaches weaving, tile work, and just about anything else you might want to learn.
Then on Tuesday mornings a professional ceramics instructor will teach you how to make pots, to sculpt in clay, and to make many other ceramic objects.
Every Tuesday afternoon you can watch free movies.
Wednesday and Thursday are game days – Bingo and Pokeno.
On Fridays, the Arts and Crafts instructor comes again in the morning and in the afternoon there is a needle-work class.
In addition to all these activities, there are regularly scheduled shopping tours as well as trips to plays, concerts and ball games.
Now, doesn’t coming to our Center sound better than sitting at home in front of the television?
It’s all free, too.
If you need transportation or more information call us, Urban West Senior Citizens’, at 361-4000.
We’ll be glad to send you a Newsletter with a calendar of up-coming events.
