The Loop-West End People’s Clinic plans to discontinue its recycling program effective January 1, 1974.
A general meeting will be held at the Clinic, 6010 Kingsbury, at 6:30 P.M. on November 25, 1973, to discuss any plans to transfer the program to another community agency.
Any group who is interested in taking over the recycling program is invited to contact the Clinic, 721-5577, on Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday evenings, to get further information on the program’s present operation, income, etc.
The Clinic regrets that it cannot continue this useful effort, but at present has insufficient manpower to carry the project through effectively, as well as requiring space given over to recycling for badly needed storage.
We would like to remind members of the community that direct medical skills are not required in order to be a Clinic volunteer.
We have current programs for training laboratory workers and paramedical nursing assistants.
Volunteers with skills in building maintenance and office skills are also in short supply.
