A new recreational facility, featuring an enclosed swimming pool, will be proposed for the general area including Skinker-DeBaliviere, as part of the neighborhood programs using federal revenue sharing funds. The Skinker-DeBaliviere Community Council board is currently making inquiries to see if this type facility is preferred in the neighborhood. Board members at the March meeting agreed it would fill a large gap in local community facilities.
If neighborhood support seems assured, the S-D board will submit a plan, including possible sites and costs to city officials.
