WCC Crime Booklet Ready

March 1973

Original Lady, Be Careful booklet cover with a woman’s silhouette and Women’s Crusade Against Crime emblem.

The Women’s Crusade Against Crime has published an attractive booklet, LADY, BE CAREFUL, containing advice and precautions for personal safety and for crime stopping. The booklet can be obtained free of charge by sending a stamped, self-addressed business envelope to: WCC, 1221 Locust St., 63103.

Most of the hints included apply to men as well as women; Be Alert; Park in a well-lighted spot and look for loiterers before you leave the car; Drive and Park with car doors locked; Put extra locks on doors near stairwells and fire-escapes; etc.

Block units and neighborhood associations can get adequate numbers of copies for a nominal fee to cover postage. The Crusade recommends that the whole family, including children, read Lady, Be Careful as a crime preventive measure.

Funds donated by the family of Miss Eleanor Ulrich, who died from an injury received in a purse snatching, made publication and distribution of the booklet possible.
