Roach Seeks Fiscal Office

February 1973

John Roach, Alderman of the 28th Ward, has begun active campaigning for the office of Comptroller. His campaign has emphasized the concern for neighborhood improvements and viability which he has often stressed as alderman. “The west end of our city is a great source of pride for me. The improvement of the area’s prospects which has taken place and should take place in the future is a shining example to neighborhoods throughout the city.” He added that “while serving as alderman has its frustrations, the sense of satisfaction I have had in seeing the area stabilize and attract new residents through the efforts of so many people has been the greatest reward.” He continued, “I seek the office of Comptroller in order to bring to city-wide government the concern for neighborhood improvements that I think is necessary if the city is to survive and prosper.”
