Free Firewood

February 1973

The Municipal Parks Department has announced that firewood will be available in Forest Park for individuals willing to load their own vehicles. No trucks or commercial vehicles are allowed in the park, so firewood will be given only to those in private vehicles. The firewood will be stacked on the Lower Opera Parking Lot, just east of the Opera. It is being made available to eliminate the need of hauling it to disposal sites, as the Park Department removes dead trees from Forest Park during the winter months.
