This year’s Art Fair which will be held Sunday, May 14, will have more variety than ever.
Visitors will have their pick of the various wares of more than a 100 artists and craftsmen whose booths will line the 6100 block of Kingsbury. Those who wish to take the house tour can travel in the luxury of the Washington University shuttle bus to visit a variety of homes from a bachelor apartment which was a former restaurant on DeBaliviere to a residence in Parkview with rooms of baronial proportions. (See Page 4 for details on the houses.)
The fair which will open at noon and continue until 5 p.m. will offer a glass blowing demonstration by Allen Wooten and a display of children’s art arranged by Betty Klinefelter and Diane Shea. House fair tickets (cost $1.00) may be purchased at a booth on Kingsbury or at one of the homes on the tour. The shuttle bus will pick up house tour participants at any of the homes on the tour.
The Boy Scout troop of St. Roch’s will offer lunch of hot dogs and ham sandwiches in the Bender’s backyard at 6150 Kingsbury. The Ladies of St. Roch’s will provide cake and coffee at tables set up in the street. Art Fair entries will be judged and cash prizes will be awarded. Parking is available in the Grace Church lot on McPherson.
Susie Roach and Pat Kohn are in charge of the fair. Mary Boyts is in charge of the house tour with Chris Wright, Gee Stuart, Betty Newsham and Blanche Reel as committee members.
