February 1972

Because of the intense cold over the weekend of January 14-15, the Martin Luther King Day observances of the Library were lightly attended. However, there was favorable comment on the poster and book displays exhibited in the Library to the memory of this great American.

The Library was closed a half-day on January 15th in memoriam.

The film shown on January 15th, “Black History — Lost, Stolen or Strayed” was an excellent one, and we hope that we will be able to have it again for showing during Black History Week in February.

Both adult and juvenile film series will start in February. Our juvenile film series will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 5th and films will be shown on both the 12th and 26th of February. The adult film series will start the 22nd of February with the chiller, “Dracula Has Risen From the Grave.” Starting time for the adult films will be at 5:30 p.m., immediately after the Library closes.

Our regular crafts class, held each Tuesday from 4-5 p.m., is steadily growing and we would like to invite all children to “come on down.” Miss Anastasia, the class leader, has led many interesting sessions, and we are sure that February will offer opportunity for the creation of some seasonal decorations and juvenile “objets d’art.”
