World of Christmas Exhibit

A beautiful “World of Christmas” exhibition of 21 trees, decorated by members of 21 countries represented in St. Louis ethnic populations, can be viewed in the Rotunda of the Old Courthouse December 4 through 30.

The exhibition is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays, except for Christmas and New Year’s day, when both the Old Courthouse and the Gateway Arch are closed.

The International Folklore Federation of Greater St. Louis, a coalition of 47 ethnic communities in the St. Louis Metropolitan area, decorated the 21 trees in co-sponsorship with the National Park Service and the Jefferson National Expansion Historical Association.

The trees on exhibit are in the tradition of Hungary, Africa, Croatia, Bolivia, Czechoslovakia, Scotland, Germany, Ukraine, America, Greece, Netherlands, Lithuania, and the United Nations.
