Girls in Sports

By Joe Lange

In its regularly scheduled October meeting, the Youth Activities Committee of St. Roch’s established a formal policy concerning the participation of girls in soccer teams. Beginning with the 1976 season, St. Roch’s soccer teams will not participate in league play in leagues which do not permit girls to play. This policy was formulated because St. Luke’s Instructional League (First and Second Graders) will not allow girls to compete. St. Roch’s is now a member of this league and will continue to compete at least through the 1975 season.
