Rehab Fund Being Sought

SDCC is working on acquiring money to set up a revolving fund which can be used to buy, rehab, rent or sell single family dwellings coming on the market in this neighborhood, especially those being repossessed by federal lending agencies. The tight money situation and inflated economy , are hampering efforts, but some progress is being made. The revolving fund will be an assurance that local properties do not fall into the hands of speculative real estate interests interested in a quick profit rather than in neighborhood stability.

A number of local residents are rehabbing neighborhood properties on an individual basis. Anyone interested in learning more about, this kind of investment can contact Mr. Stuart at the Council office, Vo 2-5122.
