TO THE EDITOR:
You and the staff of THE PAPER deserve the congratulations of the entire community. A community newspaper has been talked about and planned since mid 1965, but until now no one has been willing to take on the tremendous task of putting a paper together and keeping it running.
THE PAPER’s appearance is far superior to most of the commerical newspapers in the St. Louis area. The concept of holding the columns open for expression of any responsible position or opinion is almost unique. The fact that THE PAPER will not be dominated by any single group or viewpoint will make it an invaluable means of communication which we have long needed.
I know something of the time and effort that went into your first edition. Thank you all for what you have accomplised.
