Skinker DeBaliviere Community Housing Corporation Begins Search for New Executive Director

The Skinker DeBaliviere Community Housing Corporation (SDCHC) has begun a search for its next executive director, opening the application process for a part-time leader to oversee the nonprofit’s housing, redevelopment and neighborhood improvement work.

The organization, founded in 1988, has worked for decades in the Skinker-DeBaliviere neighborhood on property redevelopment, affordable housing, historic preservation and community partnerships. SDCHC and its partners have directed more than $30 million in investment into the neighborhood during this time. Its recent activity has included grant support for residents affected by the May 16, 2025, tornado and collaboration with local initiatives, including the SD Dog Park Planning Committee.

The new executive director will be responsible for carrying out the organization’s strategic priorities. The position includes non-profit management, oversight of development projects, programs, and rental management.

SDCHC is seeking candidates with experience in areas such as real estate development, construction, and nonprofit management. The role is expected to require 15 to 20 hours per week, with flexible in-office and remote work options with a salary range of $30,000 to $35,000.

Interested, see the job posting at https://sdexecdir.wordpress.com/2026/08/05/exec-dir-search/. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled. SDCHC is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applicants of all backgrounds.
