2015 Garden Tour

Original printed byline: Andy Cross
Vincent Flewellen’s backyard garden.

Historical September–October 2015 article. Dates, prices, services and contacts describe the source period; current availability has not been established.

Vincent Flewellen’s open backyard garden is a welcome sight to anyone who passes by: an oasis of hostas, daisies, hydrangea, and potted plants springs forth from the surrounding slabs of asphalt, brick walls, and concrete.

Lush foliage with freedom to move around sets the tone for relaxing and for entertaining large groups in William and Rubina Patton’s yard. Frank and Betty Burke’s garden is packed with vegetables, flowers, flowering trees, and plants which “go to school in the winter, and are nursed back to health in the summer.”
