A small, but vocal and compatible, group attended the annual meeting at which the following items were discussed. 1) The SD website was given for those who might not be familiar with it. [ http://stlouis.missouri. org/skinkerdebaliviere/ ] 2) There was discussion about Rags to Riches.
The feeling is that this is a very good fundraiser with more sellers participating each year, especially from outside the neighborhood. Since this is the sole source of income for Rosedale and is split with SDCC we felt that it should continue. 3) We have a new 7th District captain – Sam Dotson.
His phone # is 444-0027.
According to him crime is down in the city by 25% in the past two years. Our area’s crime is mostly down with the exception of car thefts and larcenies.
His #1 focus will be on larcenies, followed by burglaries. More officers on bikes will be out as the weather warms up. Police are getting out of their cars to check both the platforms and upper areas of the Metrolink stations. 4) The Community Events calendar was distributed along with the SDCC board of directors list with phone and email numbers. http://stlouis.missouri. org/skinkerdebaliviere/sdccboard. html 5) Two major fundraising events are being planned by the SDCC fundraising committee. Information was given out about them and more info will be coming to all via email and flyers. 6) Officers were elected and the new officers are: Dan Hudspeth – president Kate Nash – vice-president Vincent Flewellen – treasurer Nicolle Blumner – Washington/ Westminster rep Duana Thomas – Kingsbury- McPherson rep Arline Webb – Waterman-Pershing rep Karin Hagaman – at-large rep Notes taken by Arline Webb, outgoing President, and Dan Schesch.
