Historical Summer 2006 article. Dates, prices, services and contacts describe the source period; current availability has not been established.

Co-editor Lana Stein celebrated six decades at a party given in her honor at Lu and Sam Green’s downtown loft.

Her university colleagues joined personal friends, several from the neighborhood, to wish her well. Former neighborhood leader Catherine Forslund was among those who traveled far for the celebration.

A friend and colleague from Lana’s days in Atlanta, Arnie Fleischmann, also attended the soiree. Rachael Boxdorfer reports that there are soon to be several new homeowners on the 5700 block of McPherson. Sales are strong and building is lively.

We look forward to introducing several of the new neighbors on that block soon.

In other news from UMSL, our own Joe Edwards received an honorary degree at the College of Arts and Sciences commencement on May 13.

This followed his inclusion as one of the “St. Louis Influentials” in St. Louis Business Journal. Best wishes to all the neighborhood gardeners showcased in this issue of THE TIMES.

We look forward to reporting everyone’s summer activities in September. Send your news or questions to jvatcha@peoplepc.com.
