The City of St. Louis will hold its fourth annual Mayor’s Family Fishing Fair on Saturday, June 8. Fishing will start at 7 a.m. and continue until 1 p.m.
The fair will be held in Forest Park, Carondelet Park and Fairgrounds Park. Local celebrities will visit all three parks to fish with the participants. Everything – from rods and reels to food — is free. Anglers at each park will be loaned a rod and reel to use during the fishing fair courtesy of Zebco. Breakfast will be provided by the St. Louis Bread Company.
A cup of worms will be given to each participant by Paul’s Bait and Tackle. Pepsi will provide free beverages and each park also will have beer, hot dogs, pony rides, hot air balloons, entertainment and prizes. “Fishing is a family affair.
The fishing fair is a good opportunity for the entire family to spend a day in their favorite city park,” said Mayor Freeman Bosley Jr. “And you don’t need to know how to fish to come out to the park with your family.
We will have experts available to show you how to bait the hook and cast the line We can show you how to clean your fish and pack it to take it home, ” he said.
The Missouri Department of Conservation is a co-sponsor of the Fishing Fair.
